Mission:  St. Francis Catholic Singles (SFCS) is a contemporary circle of men and women in their 30s, 40s, or 50s who are
single or single again and wish to lead more fulfilled, empowered lives by deepening their Catholic spirituality and building
community with like-minded peers.  We were formed in March 2001 to acknowledge the challenge of living singly in today's world
by offering topics and events that address the following five values:  the spiritual, intellectual, practical, social, and charitable.
New and returning members always welcome.

Confession 101:  From the Early Church to the Present
In plenty of time for Lent, join us as Father Angelo Micciulla discusses how the sacrament of confession began and how it was done from the early Church until it was developed into what we have today.  Part history lesson, part theology, common questions such as why do we have to confess sins to a priest will also be answered. Fr. Micciulla is Pastor of Holy Family and co-founder of the Terror of Demons, a motorcycle ministry of Archdiocesan NY priests who ride, pray for and give blessings to motorcycles and riders.

Movie Night : Quiz Show
,
directed by Robert Redford and starring John Turturro, Rob Morrow, Ralph Fiennes, Mira Sorvino and Hank Azaria, chronicles the Twenty One quiz show scandals of the 50s, the rise and fall of a popular contestant after the rigged loss of another and the Congressional investigator's subsequent probe.  Nominated for Best Picture and several Golden Globes, it explores the danger of fame and greed's allure.  An interesting choice of film as we continue on our Lenten journey.  Popcorn and beverages will be served.  Guided discussion to follow.

Ascension Thurs. Mass followed by 8:15 pm Talk
(Last day of early bird price for June 24 Spring-into-Summer party: see below). Many of us spend a lifetime searching for meaning when it may be right in front of us. He's addressed national and international audiences and teaches theology at St. John's University and Fontbonne Hall Academy where he is Chairperson of Religious Studies.
