Verrazano-Narrows Bridge 50th Anniversary Display

Join us at the Historic Richmond Town Museum to view the exhibit “Spanning the Narrows for Five Decades,” to celebrate the 50-year history of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, one of the most iconic and recognizable symbols of Staten Island. The exhibit will include historic photographs detailing the bridge’s construction, artifacts, and an overview of all that went into building this important structure.  Meet at 1:00 pm in front of the Richmond Town Museum, 441 Clark Ave. SI, NY (718) 351-1611.  Admission is $8; pay at the door. Do-It-Yourself Apartment/Home Repairs

Join us as a seasoned manager from Doody Home Centers discusses a few types of manageable do-it-yourself home repairs.  Topics will include some of the following:  toilet and faucet repairs, winterizing windows and garden, fixing rusty windows and doors, refinishing furniture and painting.  Discussion will also include best items and products to use.  Q & A will follow to address additional audience concerns and interests

Live Your Faith

Are you looking for a hands-on way to live out your faith through service?  Three to four volunteers are needed from 6 to 8 pm to help Project Hospitality serve a home-cooked meal to the homeless and then clean-up afterwards.  Meet at Assumption Church, 15 Webster Avenue 10301 (off Brighton and Castleton Avenue, a couple of blocks from Victory Blvd. and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church).  Please RSVP by Monday, October 20 for October 26; by Monday, Nov. 24 for November 30; and Monday, December 22 for December 28 by emailing deborahsucich@aol.com.
